Clinical Research Environment
CDI collaborates closely with the HUMC John Theurer Cancer Center (JTCC) in its clinical research endeavors. The JTCC has more than 300 ongoing clinical trials conducted independently and in partnership with government- and private-research centers and pharmaceutical companies, research consortiums, patient advocacy groups and the National Institutes of Health. Many of these trials involve innovative treatment and patient support for patients with hematological and related cancers and those undergoing stem cell transplantation. The clinical trials are supported by the David and Alice Jurist Institute, which provides administrative services, a library, conference rooms, and a lecture hall equipped with the latest audio-visual technology.
Core Resources
Core facilities include high-end imaging, mass spectrometry, gene editing, cell sorting, flow cytometry, tissue banks and biocontainment. A high-tech auditorium, Board Room and video conferencing center serve as venues for both internal and external speakers to present their research to CDI scientists, professors and medical students. An additional ~60,000 GSF of lab space is available for expansion of the research enterprise.
