Megan Mitchell, Ph.D.
Research Associate
megan.mitchell@hmh-cdi.org
Dr. Mitchell’s research interests are focused on the early detection of cancer through the assessment of circulating biomarkers stably encapsulated within small-EVs. Since small-EVs are known to play a significant role in conferring both pro-metastatic and resistance traits to cancer cells. Her current interests are focused on the further development of the EV-CATCHER assay to enhance and up-scale the reproducible isolation of selective small-EV sub-populations and utilize this for the identification of biomarkers associated with cancer development and progression through the assessment of biofluids collected non-invasively.
Marwa Khalil, M.D.
Research Fellow
marwa.khalil@hmhn.org
Dr. Khalil’s research interests are focused on the development of prenatal molecular assays for the detection of placental abnormalities. Dr. Khalil who is a neonatologist at the Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) is also interested in developing a molecular screening assay for early diagnosis of abnormal lung development in premature infants.
